RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with an interest in biology and clinical application of male germline stem cells and modulation of blood-testis barrier. Our research aims at isolation and in vitro amplification of male germ line stem cells as well as at improving efficiency of stem cell migration through epithelia after transplantation using our patented molecules. General Duties

  • Participate and/or manage laboratory projects and experiments,
  • Optimize, troubleshoot and adapt methodologies,
  • Strong communication skills and team-work ability,
  • Contribute to publications,
  • Participate in training of new lab members.

Education / Experience

Education: Master’s Degree

Field of Study: Biology, Medicine

Work Experience

  • Expertise in molecular biology techniques, such as western blotting and immunoprecipitation,
  • Expertise in cell culture and immunostaining and analyses,
  • Experience or knowledge in antibody-based flow cytometry.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency or experience in R,
  • Excellent organizational skills,
  • Punctuality,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time (35 hours/week)

Pay Scale: $40,000 to $60,000/year Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm

Work Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie
