About the OpportunityAs an In Vivo Biologist, you will work in our multidisciplinary Translational Pharmacology group, dedicated to innovation and breaking away from routine approaches. In this role, you will be collaborating with Biology and Chemistry groups to design and execute mouse models of PK/PD and efficacy for autoimmune diseases.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical experience handling, dosing and sampling from mice. Prior experience in drug discovery, particularly with autoimmune disease models, cytokine analysis and multicolor flow cytometry is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement acute PK/PD models to screen novel compounds for autoimmune targets.
  • Validate and utilize mouse models of autoimmune disease including models of colitis, SLE, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and asthma to interrogate novel compounds.
  • Ex-vivo assessment of study samples using MSD, ELISA, and multi-color flow cytometric analysis.
  • Must be able to work with project teams as an In Vivo Lead to understand project goals and collaborate on how to address them.
  • Occasional weekend monitoring/dosing of studies.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • MS in Pharmacology, Biology, or other relevant area with 5+ years of industry experience or PhD in Pharmacology, Biology or other relevant area with 1-2 years industry experience.
  • Must be competent in IV, PO, SC and IP dosing of mice, in-life, and terminal blood collections.
  • Experience running PK/PD models and mouse models of autoimmune disease.
  • Many different techniques will be used, and training may be provided, but a desire to quickly gain independence is important.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be a scientifically motivated self-starter, able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
