Job Description

Administers ICT System components elated to hosting services to meet service requirements. Installs software, configures and upgrades ICT systems. Administers day-to-day operations to satisfy continuity of service, recovery, security and performance needs

Nature Of The Tasks

  • Investigate, diagnose and solve system related problems.
  • Install and upgrades infrastructure software, including monitoring solutions.
  • Test upgrades.
  • Schedule installation work, to minimize disruption.
  • Monitor, diagnose and solve hardware or software problems.
  • Comply with organisation procedures to ensure integrity and security of the system.
  • Install, maintain and support the organisation Data centre hardware infrastructure (Servers, enclosure, UPS, patch panel, tape library, cabling, etc.).

Knowledge And Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Data centre hardware infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows/Linux server operating systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of hypervisor solutions (VMWare/Hyper-V).
  • In-depth knowledge of network storage (SAN/NAS, NetApp/EMC).
  • In-depth knowledge of central backup.
  • Being able to work independently.
  • Experience with racking, cabling, connecting hardware in data centres.
  • Experience with advanced troubleshooting.

Technical Certifications

  • Disaster Recover Certified Specialist (DRCS)
  • SolarWinds Certified Professional
  • MCSE/MCSA : Windows Server 2012 or above
  • Microsoft Azure administrator
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA®) or above
  • Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1 or above
  • Oracle Certified Professional Oracle Linux
  • VMware Certified Professional 5 – Cloud Management and Automation (VCP5-CMA) or above
  • NetApp Certified Data Administrator
  • Dell Systems Administrator (DCS-SA) / Platform Engineer (DCS-PE)
  • Disaster Recover Certified Specialist (DRCS)
