Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Product Program Manager, the Product Program Specialist plans, organizes, and supports implementation of the programmatic aspects of the product program, including providing training, support and resources to volunteers, girls. parents and staff, thereby delivering and expanding the Girl Scout product programs.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties

  • Create, design, and execute all programmatic components (i.e., contests, community engagement programs, Service Unit Cookie Kick-offs, other program initiatives, etc.) of the fall product and cookie programs as identified in the program strategic plans.
  • Produce, write, and distribute Product Program programmatic handbooks, training materials, and updates.
  • Partner with the Product Program Manager to develop and execute a cohesive progression of opportunities for girls to learn and practice entrepreneurship skills and be recognized for their achievements and successes.
  • Work in partnership with Service Unit Support Specialists and/or Troop Support Specialists to build and maintain strong and functioning product sales volunteer teams, identify team leaders and evaluate existing leaders to achieve maximum performance.
  • Train and support other departments on relevant product program programmatic information.
  • Develop and implement innovative marketing plans for all programmatic components of the fall and cookie product programs plans to include website updates, collateral requests, and social media posts.
  • In collaboration with Product Program Manager and Director, create recommendations for the upcoming cookie reward line up. Partner with vendors and suppliers to purchase and negotiate motivating girl reward items and events.
  • Serve as cookie reward and other events liaison on behalf of the Product Program Team.
  • Support product program initiatives and goals; encourage, guide and gain support from departments and volunteers toward accomplishing programmatic product program goals.
  • Provide customer support to girls, volunteers and staff in a friendly and professional manner. With other product specialists, act as first line of customer service with product program hotline phone calls and Salesforce cases. Develop solutions and FAQs on all fall and cookie programmatic components for Customer Care.
  • Participate in product program events, Service Unit meetings, and other events in which product program will be represented.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of annual product program strategic plans (i.e. department road map) to achieve organizational goals.
  • Support all other roles within the Product Program Team with collaboration on, or assignment of, department tasks and projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in related area i.e., sales, business, or finance preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management skills; Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work with frequent interruptions under changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong planning, organization, and follow-through skills with high attention to details
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills and troubleshoot problems and effectively manage conflict.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
  • Willingness to try new methods and appropriately question existing processes.
  • Able to build and sustain positive collaborative working relationships with volunteers, staff, collaborators, and vendors.
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable working with social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.).
  • Able to provide superior customer service to girls, staff and volunteers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates; some weekends and nights required.
  • Familiarity working with Service Units is preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus.
  • Valid drivers license, proof of insurance and access to reliable transportation. Occasional driving may be required.
  • Must have belief in the mission and values of Girl Scouting; be willing to subscribe to the principles expressed in the Promise and Law, and aware of the needs of girls in our pluralistic society.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $22.00 per hour.
