Job Description

The Business Systems Analyst acts as a liaison between various business functions and the development team to ensure the successful delivery and support of technical applications and solutions. The Business Systems Analyst produces documentation including business and system process flows, business requirement specifications, user stories, conceptual and logical data models and report mockups. The Business Systems Analyst reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs to formulate systems strategies to parallel overall business strategies.

  • Responsible for gathering and documenting detailed requirements, designing feature-based systems, and supporting the development life cycle
  • Assure that business requirements have been met for quality assurance purposes
  • Responsible for supporting multiple development projects simultaneously and having a working knowledge of the systems development life cycle
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts, internal and external customers, and development organization in developing, documenting and representing customer/product requirements to gain their approval of functionality
  • Effectively deal with scope on an agile project by understanding the breadth and depth of the solution and articulate to the team for estimating and release planning
  • Facilitate discussion between the Product Team, QA and technical team throughout the SDLC and Agile development process
  • Utilize collaborative requirements gathering techniques to assist the team in incrementally defining requirements using user stories
  • Participate in product development cycle by attending daily standups, product backlog grooming sessions, sprint story demos, technical reviews, and QA test case review
  • Advocate for the business, technology and product needs; resolving conflicts to provide the best solution for the company overall
