About The Position
Linea Energy is looking for Head of Supply Chain and EPC Contracting to join our growing team. The main objective of this position will be to create opportunities for competitive differentiation via creative structuring, market attuned and considered risk assessment, and robust contract negotiation and management. This individual will be responsible for procuring and enabling a growing pipeline that aspires to hit over 1 GW of solar and storage built annually within the next 3 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Propose a strategy equipment sourcing strategy that enables and derisks Linea’s pipeline and M&A aspirations considering the risks and benefits of being long or short equipment considering market factors
- Relationship cultivation with key equipment vendors and EPCs
- Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, when applicable, for solar power generation equipment (including but not limited to solar panels/modules, transformers, breakers, trackers/racking, inverters, balance-of-system (AC and DC), switchgear),BESS equipment, including but not limited to the BESS, PMS, EMS, and inverters, and wind power generation equipment (including but not limited to wind turbines, transformers, and breakers); analyze bid results and compile bid evaluations.
- Similarly, manage the RFP process, contract negation and execution of construction agreements, optimizing for IRA considerations
- Take ownership for driving the useful life costs of project down to optimize profitability for the company, considering likely operational costs associated with decisions, in addition to the upfront costs
- Lead analysis and evaluation of supplier product options and make recommendations for supplier and product selections, including quantifying and managing contractual risk with suppliers.
- Negotiate and manage power generation equipment and service transactions for solar projects; manage the interdisciplinary team across legal, finance, development, operations, technical and other personnel.
- Negotiate and execute master agreements and purchase orders in support of company projects.
- Guide development strategies, relating to power generation and transmission procurement, from prospecting through financial close.
- Maintain the necessary technical and administrative infrastructure to manage historical pricing across all projects and technologies; create forward-looking reports projecting price and technology improvements for all major generation equipment.
- Assist with the project’s financial close process, including providing copies of requested contracts (and exhibits) and compiling responses from OEMs and/or interdisciplinary teams to independent engineering (IE) questions.
- Assist with the management of inventory and allocation of safe harbor inventory as appliable
- Develop and implement strong supplier development and supplier relationship management processes.
- Monitor and evaluate the risk of geopolitical and regulatory initiatives that impact the supply chain and develop the mitigation and/or contingency procurement strategies.
- Synthesizing market intelligence with internally gathered intelligence to perform forecasts for major equipment
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of seven (7) years of related experience; experience in renewable energy project development and/or the energy industry is a plus
- BS in STEM or MBA, or significant experience in technical procurement
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Deep understanding and ability to read, write and negotiate contracts; particularly contracting for large generation and related equipment
- Strong product knowledge of PV modules, solar inverters, BESS, wind turbines and transformers
- Experience in global sourcing and international negotiations
- Familiarity with the exportation/importation of equipment/materials
- Experience ideally across solar,BESS, and wind development or an EPC contractor
- Experienced in financial analysis including price forecasting and reporting
- Familiarity with evolving quality factors and major trends within the PV industry
- CPSM or equivalent is a plus
- Experience building or managing cost estimating function

- Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
- Salary: A base salary commensurate with experience.
- Bonus: An annual bonus will be awarded based on both individual performance as well as the overall success of the business.

- Location: Ability to work in the United States is a requirement. Location in San Francisco, CA (preferred) or Austin, TX
- Travel: As needed, 20-30% travel
