Job Description

About Certa:

Certa (getcerta.com) is a Silicon Valley-based startup automating the vendor, supplier, and stakeholder onboarding processes for businesses globally. Serving Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 clients, Certa’s engineering team tackles expansive and deeply technical challenges, driving innovation in business processes across industries.

About the role:

We’re looking for a product designer to drive our user experience forward as we grow our product offering and tackle new and complex challenges around self service workflow building (Studio), Gen AI driven insights and productivity (Certa AI), and simplifying our app experience. With an eye for craft and delight, curiosity for how companies big and small operate, and an appreciation for complex challenges, you can help us design the future of Certa!

This is a full-time remote role with hybrid opportunities in various locations such as NYC and the Bay Area.

What you’ll do at Certa:

  • Define the product in a high visibility role reporting to the Head of Design and working directly with the VP of Product and CEO.
  • Contribute to overall strategy and decision-making about product experience.
  • Help deliver clear storytelling around customer needs and business opportunities.
  • Work cross-functionally with product management, engineering, and the customer team.
  • Create, collaborate, and iterate on flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.
  • Design and ship high-quality features and product improvements.
  • Develop platform wide paradigms and work with different product areas to implement and align experiences for a cohesive flow.
  • Be a mentor and provide thoughtful feedback to your peers (and benefit from strong personal and professional mentorship opportunities yourself!)

Some projects you could work on:

  • Design key features like Certa AI, Studio, and Core UX
  • Drive our visual design forward to make Certa a world class product
  • Maintain, update and evangelize Certa’s design system across design and engineering teams
  • Lead user research and connect with customers regularly to validate ideas and gather feedback

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of experience working as a product or UX designer, especially with visual design experience
  • Experience using Figma and/or other design tools
  • Diligence and attention to detail–Laying out all states and edge cases for a feature for the product and engineering teams to easily review, document and seamlessly hand off.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills—you’re able to explain your design decisions and strategy with clear rationale and storytelling.
  • Experience leading initiatives in a fast paced environment
  • A growth mindset. We value individuals who dig into problems and see the opportunities for success in a sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Passion for user-centric design, attention to detail and craft, and a constant drive for innovation and improvement.

While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:

  • A strong understanding of user-centered design principles and product strategy.
  • Familiarity with technical things like HTML/CSS and advanced Figma features like Auto Layout, Variables, and Components.
  • Past experience working with complex, large scale tools or applications.
  • Experience driving user research initiatives and using tools such as Usertesting.com

If you love startups or have experience working with startups, we would be a match made in tech heaven.

Perks:

  • Best-in-class compensation
  • Fully-remote work with flexible schedules
  • Continuous learning
  • Massive opportunities for growth
  • Yearly offsite
  • Quarterly hacker house
  • PTO, Sick, Holidays, and personal days off
  • Comprehensive health coverage (generous employer paid contribution to healthcare, 401k + company match, mental health resources for you and your family)
  • Latest Tech Workstation
  • Rockstar team to work with (we mean it!)
