Surgical Scheduler Position Summary
The Surgical Scheduler’s primary function is to secure clinical, demographic and financial patient information to accurately pre-register and schedule surgical procedures, diagnostic and therapeutic outpatient procedures under the direct supervision of the office supervisor/manager. The Surgical Scheduler pre-registers patients in the EHR system to enable pre-procedure certification; identifies scheduling barriers and implements solutions; has proper clinical/insurance information for patients; assists with scheduling post-procedural care, and additional office-specific tasks as instructed.
Surgical Scheduler Position Requirements
- Previous physician office experience required.
- Experience with electronic health record, medical terminology highly preferred.
- Experience in insurance verification, medical billing, collection and registration preferred.
- Familiarity with medical diagnostic procedures preferred.
- Computer experience and keyboarding (typing) required.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Four month on-the-job-training

- Monday through Friday, Day Shift
