Position Summary
The Director of Enrollment for Strategy and Communications leads the Admission Office’s ongoing marketing and communication efforts with a specific focus on communication flow, events management and coordination and technology, such as digital media and other platforms. In addition, this position will also provide support to the overall admissions team to recruit high caliber students. The Director serves as a problem solver and collaborator, delivering proactive and creative solutions to enrollment opportunities and challenges.
Reports to: Vice President for Enrollment Management
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communication strategies and in collaboration with key constituents to attract and engage prospective students and their families.
- Support the Office of Admission in its marketing and communication efforts.
- Develop and create digital content for the Office of Admission social media platforms while tracking analytics of the campaigns; partner with current students in the development and execution of this content.
- Produce compelling, strategically-driven digital content to enhance digital storytelling efforts.
- Communicate the benefits of a Manhattan University education, whether in person through on- and off-campus events or virtually (presentations at schools and community-based organizations, school counselor events, student-family events, online webinars, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Undergraduate, Graduate, Transfer and International Student Admissions for the creation and editing of content for admission website and first year portal content.
- Independently manage portfolio projects as assigned, including but not limited to on-campus programming, virtual events management, supporting the supervision of student assistants, and outreach to build relationships with campus partners and alumni.
- Collaborate with the Director of Slate, the Assistant Director of Enrollment Management for Communication, Events and Technology and the Assistant Director of Operations to manage all formal communications to prospective and current students, including, but not limited to, printed communications (admission decision letters, scholarship letters, financial aid notices, Slate Print, etc.), student and staff portal pages, and checklists.
- Generate and inventory enrollment letters.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the University.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in admission, communication and/or marketing, preferably in higher education or related industry.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to articulate the benefits of a professional and liberal arts education.
- Knowledge of college / university admission and financial aid process or related expertise.
- Expertise in video and image editing; Some experience in graphic design preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work towards the big-picture by coordinating and following through with small details independently and as part of a team.
