We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role involves preparing various environmental compliance plans, managing permit applications, completing regulatory reports, and conducting onsite compliance activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills, a proactive approach to client interaction, and a solid background in environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Compliance Plans
- Develop and implement Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).
- Prepare Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans.
- Create contingency plans for hazardous waste management.
Permit Applications
- Prepare wastewater permit applications (NPDES).
- Complete stormwater and air permit applications, including Title V.
Annual Compliance Reporting
- Complete Tier II Chemical Inventory reports.
- Submit Form R (Toxic Release Inventory) reports.
- Prepare Permit-by-Rule and Title V compliance reports.
- File biennial hazardous waste generator reports.
Onsite Contract Compliance Work
- Conduct compliance inspections and audits at client sites.
- Ensure adherence to environmental permits and regulations.
Sampling and Reporting
- Perform stormwater and wastewater sampling.
- Analyze results and prepare detailed summary reports.
Air Emissions and Wastewater Reporting
- Perform air emissions calculations and wastewater reporting.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory thresholds and standards.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience and background in environmental compliance.
- EIT registration a plus!
- Strong writing skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to interact with clients during onsite visits.
- Ability to perform fieldwork, including off-hour sampling events.
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
