Job Description

Foster LLP seeks a full-time Billing Manager for our Houston, TX office. The Billing Manager will perform all functions to ensure accurate billing of clients. The Billing Manager will perform accounting functions including managing, coordinating and administering accounting support while enforcing company policies and practices.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and fully engage in the billing process from initiation to resolution.
  • Instrumental in fostering a healthy and supportive work culture and positive work environment.
  • Assist to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Assist, in processing firm-wide reports.
  • Assist in overseeing accounting department to promote compliance and uniform practices.
  • Prepare firm communication on various issues, including those related to company accounting policies and practices.
  • Accurately and efficiently generate monthly bills and reports.
  • Manage billing process, which may include complex corporate billing arrangements.
  • Ensure proper billing protocol and established guidelines are followed.
  • Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing related issues.
  • Update accounting manual to memorialize activity.
  • Assist with other related tasks and duties as assigned and/or needed.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Three to five years’ experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate environment.

  • Strong technology and office skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook, and ability to create, edit, and present complex data to partners and managers.
  • Multi-task efficiently and professionally in a fast-paced work environment, and successfully prioritize and adapt to change in workflows.
  • Ability to exhibit professional integrity and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of accounting rules and regulations.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn accounting systems.
  • Ability to operate successfully in complex situations by applying critical thinking, strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
