Job Description
We are seeking an Associate Vice President of Facilities Management and Planning who will report directly to the Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services. This person will be responsible for all Plant Operations, including Building and Grounds and Mechanical Services for a multi-campus community college.
Example Of Duties
- Develop and execute a facilities management strategy that is integrated with other key operational departments at the College.
- Oversee the functions of Facilities Management and Planning and all ancillary operations.
- Provide timely communications regarding facilities-related matters, as needed, to the affected campus community.
- Provide coordination and professional oversight for projects undertaken by the College.
- Manage capital projects with a focus on schedules, budget and functionality.
- Ensure that work undertaken at the College follows federal, state and local regulations.
- Serve as a resource for the development of a college-wide Master Plan.
- Oversee the maintenance of key reporting and analytical initiatives for the Department to document nodes such as equipment maintenance, work order summaries, department finances and property inventories.
- Provide executive consultation to the Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services and other campus administrators.
- Oversee planning for new constructions and renovations of facilities in a multi-campus environment. Plans shall incorporate the strategic allocation of resources and space to ensure the smooth execution of operations, considering factors such as workflow optimization, equipment placement, safety regulations, and future scalability.
- Work with the Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services to plan, coordinate, and administer the Plant Operations budgets for a multi-campus operation.
- Coordinate, maintain and improve all services provided by the above units for each campus location.
- Establish all necessary preventive maintenance programs to assure that College property, facilities and equipment are maintained in a state of readiness and to extend their useful life.
- Oversee and coordinate the selection, training, and evaluation of all Plant Operations employees.
- Comply with all Federal, State and Locals laws (and standards established by such agencies) to ensure the health, safety and comfort of the college community.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in physical plant management, preferably in a related service institution.
- A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible management experience involving the operation and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure.
- Strong communication, management, organizational, and computer literacy skills required.
- Experience as a licensed registered professional engineer or registered architect preferred.
