About the Opportunity
Step into a senior transport leadership role with a major healthcare and pharmaceutical distribution organisation that supports one of New Zealand’s fastest expanding pharmacy networks. Based at a modern distribution centre in Auckland, this position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day transport and logistics activity, improving route efficiency, and ensuring strong service outcomes across the supply chain.
You will partner closely with supply chain, inventory, retail, and operations teams to uphold high delivery standards, while also contributing to wider improvement projects, expansion initiatives, and enhancements to transport systems. The role also includes leading transport teams with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, customer service, and performance.
Key Focus Areas
- Manage daily transport and logistics operations within a highly automated distribution environment.
- Improve transport performance through route design, KPI tracking, and effective third-party logistics management.
- Work across departments to maintain reliable service levels and support operational priorities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, growth projects, and transport technology upgrades.
- Guide and develop transport staff while maintaining a strong safety-first culture.
What You’ll Bring
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain leadership, along with hands-on knowledge of route planning, fleet coordination, and transport optimisation. Experience working with 3PL partners and driving performance outcomes is important, as is confidence using transport management systems, logistics platforms, and reporting tools.
You should also bring strong communication skills, the ability to manage stakeholders at different levels, and proven leadership capabilities. Success in this role will depend on your ability to coach teams, solve problems quickly, and deliver results in a busy, fast-moving setting.
What’s on Offer
- Join a large and growing organisation that is investing significantly in infrastructure and technology.
- Work in a modern, state-of-the-art automated distribution centre.
- Take on a senior role with real influence over transport and supply chain outcomes.
- Be part of a collaborative, high-performing team that values ongoing improvement.
- Receive a competitive salary package with strong long-term career growth prospects.
- Contribute to a business focused on improving healthcare access throughout New Zealand.
Application Requirements
Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen, a New Zealand resident, or already hold valid work rights and a current visa for New Zealand. References will be requested at the appropriate stage, so they should not be included on the CV.
