Role overview
The Solutions Engineering team works at the crossroads of technology and business, helping advertising clients solve practical problems through tailored technical solutions. The group brings together creative problem-solvers and strategic engineers who partner with clients to understand their needs, then design and deliver solutions that help them grow and reach commercial goals.
As a Solutions Engineer, you will collaborate with multiple business verticals to unlock the value of new capabilities, products, and opportunities. You will support teams across R&D, Customer Success, and Product Management, using TikTok’s platforms and community to address real-world business challenges.
Key responsibilities
You will help shape and improve products in partnership with product engineering teams, ensuring solutions match business requirements. The role involves identifying and expanding commercial opportunities with advertising clients by applying TikTok products and technologies effectively.
You will work closely with Customer Success teams to uncover business opportunities and contribute to client success. The job also includes designing end-to-end systems, planning launches, and shipping production-ready code with attention to scalability, maintainability, documentation, and testing.
In addition, you will independently identify stakeholders, bring cross-functional teams together around project goals, and build strong relationships with both internal and external partners. You will also use data and business insights to communicate impact and support decision-making.
Required qualifications
The position calls for a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, along with at least 5 years of experience in programming, backend technical solution design, and delivery to clients or advertisers.
Applicants should be comfortable working with one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C/C++. Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-management skills are essential, especially when working with advertisers and partners.
You should also be able to adapt technical presentations to different audiences, speak confidently about technical topics in front of groups of varying sizes and backgrounds, manage priorities under tight timelines, and bring strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting ability.
