Role overview

B&Q is hiring a full-time Shift Lead for its Navan store in County Meath, Ireland. This is a permanent position with 36.75 working hours per week. The full-time equivalent pay is €35,353.50 per year, along with pension benefits and 7 weeks of holiday including bank holidays. Sunday work attracts a premium paid at 0.25x. This is a keyholder role, and shifts may begin as early as 6:00am or end as late as 10:00pm.

About the role

As a Shift Lead, you will play an important part in creating a safe place to work and shop. You will take charge of the shift, support a positive experience for both colleagues and customers, and help ensure the store runs smoothly each day. The role is central to B&Q’s aim of making every customer count and building a workplace where colleagues enjoy working and customers enjoy shopping.

Key duties

• Act as the day-to-day driver of store activity and keep operations moving efficiently.
• Allocate colleagues effectively so the store can deliver on customer needs throughout the shift.
• Serve as the main contact point for both customers and fellow colleagues.
• Maintain a consistently safe environment across the store.

What we are looking for

The ideal Shift Lead brings a strong customer focus, a willingness to do what is right, and the ability to look across the whole store rather than focusing only on one area. You should be attentive to safety and compliance, comfortable working closely with others, and able to bring energy and encouragement to the team. Confidence, good judgment, and the ability to make timely decisions independently are also important for this position.

Working pattern and conditions
