Role Overview
This position is for a Scrum Master supporting a Haystack partner in Washington, DC. The role centers on guiding an engineering team through Agile delivery, improving team practices, and helping keep work aligned with sprint objectives.
What You’ll Do
- Coach the development team on Agile methods and keep sprint goals in focus so delivery stays on track.
- Use Scrum practices to address everyday blockers and drive steady, sustainable process improvements.
- Run Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Draft clear user stories, break down related tasks, and define acceptance criteria.
- Work with the project team to review workflows and improve business processes.
- Maintain the product backlog while supporting quality assurance and requirements validation.
What You’ll Need
- At least 2 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master on an engineering team.
- Hands-on experience with Jira, including configuring and coordinating Jira boards across multiple teams.
- Background in client delivery work and direct interaction with senior client stakeholders.
- Ability to explain core Agile concepts to technical teams in a practical way.
- An active Secret security clearance.
- A bachelor’s degree.
