Retail Control Room Operator

Role overview

G4S is hiring a National Control Centre Operator for its Leeds office to act as the key communication point for the Retail sector. In this role, you will help safeguard frontline employees, provide operational assistance to managers working across retail contracts, and contribute to a responsive 24/7 environment. It is well suited to someone who enjoys a busy, varied setting where priorities can change quickly.

What you will do

• Keep track of the wellbeing, health, and safety of field-based security officers through scheduled welfare calls.
• Use escalation procedures promptly when calls are missed or when there are signs of an emergency.
• Prepare accurate incident reports quickly so they can be shared with senior operational leaders.
• Serve as a main point of contact for members of the public, frontline staff, clients, and the management team.
• Coordinate scheduling and allocate security personnel to meet client and contractual needs across the UK.
• Support field teams in using G4S procedures and internal systems effectively.
• Carry out administrative and data-related tasks, including gathering and organising information to improve frontline operational performance.

Experience and skills needed

• Previous experience in a call centre or similar phone-based support environment.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills.
• A flexible attitude toward shift work and changing working hours.
