Role overview
This opportunity is for a freelance video editor supporting a team that creates polished educational content for dog trainers and handlers. The work spans short promotional pieces, social media edits, full lectures, and workshop recordings. The position is mainly remote, with an added preference for candidates located in or around Manchester for possible closer collaboration as the team expands.
What you'll work on
- Edit and shape educational step-by-step videos, lectures, workshops, and promotional assets for web and social channels.
- Keep every output aligned with the brand’s visual style and a consistently professional, engaging tone.
- Combine B-roll, graphics, and audio elements where useful to improve clarity and audience engagement.
- Work with the team, apply feedback, and help raise the quality of future edits over time.
- Export and prepare final files in the correct formats for the intended distribution channels.
Tools and footage
You may be editing material captured on Canon EOS R cameras, DJI drones, and iPhones, often with organized B-roll already available. Comfort working across mixed source footage and modern editing workflows, including AI-assisted tools, is considered valuable.
What the ideal candidate brings
The strongest fit will be someone who is dependable, highly detail-focused, and able to preserve a consistent look and feel across all deliverables. A solid grasp of pacing, storytelling, and audience retention is important, particularly for longer educational or documentary-style content. Experience handling longer-form edits is especially useful.
Additional notes
Training, feedback, and support will be provided throughout the engagement, and there is potential for the relationship to continue long term. A genuine interest in dogs or animal training would be a welcome bonus.
