Project Director

Role Overview

An experienced Project Director is needed to take charge of a major tunnel delivery program in Dubai. The assignment covers the full execution of large underground infrastructure works, with emphasis on deep gravity sewer tunnels, TBM tunneling, shafts, sewer link works, and terminal pump stations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end leadership for the project, from mobilization through to final completion and handover.
• Oversee all delivery functions, including engineering coordination, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and transfer to the client.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams so the project stays aligned with approved timelines, budgets, quality expectations, and HSE standards.
• Lead execution of underground works such as deep gravity sewer tunnels, TBM operations, shaft construction, deep excavation, tunnel segment installation, link sewer works, and terminal pump stations.
• Handle project planning, risk control, commercial outcomes, cost management, contract administration, and stakeholder coordination.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, authorities, and other important stakeholders.
• Ensure the project remains compliant with contractual commitments, legal and statutory requirements, and internal company standards throughout its lifecycle.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant discipline is required.
• A master's degree and PMP certification are considered an advantage.
• At least 20 years of experience in delivering major civil infrastructure and underground construction projects is required.
• Hands-on background in deep sewer tunnels, strategic sewerage tunnels, wastewater infrastructure, metro tunnels, or similar large underground utility works is necessary.
• Strong technical exposure to TBM tunneling, deep shaft works, gravity sewer systems, underground civil structures, and pump stations is expected.
• Prior delivery experience on large-scale infrastructure projects in the UAE or GCC region is highly preferred.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role is focused on the successful delivery of a complex underground infrastructure project.
