About the opportunity
Mobile Attendant Care Service (MACS) is growing beyond Brisbane and launching operations on the Gold Coast. This role offers the chance to join at the start of that expansion and help shape a brand-new local service from the ground up.
With more than 34 years of experience supporting people with disability, MACS delivers a distinctive model focused on mobile overnight drop-in and on-call support for people with physical disabilities. Instead of fixed block shifts, teams move between participants’ homes to provide short, timely assistance throughout the day and night.
The service supports people with personal care, medication, transfers and unexpected support needs, helping them stay independent while using their NDIS funding effectively. The Gold Coast launch is planned for 10 August 2026.
Role overview
As Operations Coordinator, you will manage the day-to-day running of the Gold Coast operation from the Southport office. The role combines independent office work with close support from MACS’ experienced Brisbane leadership team, who will remain available by phone or Teams.
This position suits someone who is comfortable working autonomously, enjoys solving problems, and can build trusted relationships with both employees and participants.
Key responsibilities
- Lead recruitment, onboarding and ongoing support for Support Workers.
- Coordinate new participant intake and keep Individual Support Plans up to date.
- Prepare service quotations.
- Build and maintain staff rosters, including filling vacant shifts.
- Check and approve timesheets to support correct payroll processing.
- Oversee company vehicle servicing, cleaning and general maintenance.
- Prepare reports on the Gold Coast rollout, including operational and business model performance measures.
- Develop working relationships with hospitals, Support Coordinators and allied health professionals.
- Represent MACS at networking events and expos.
- Take part in the after-hours on-call roster.
- Contribute to the successful growth of the Gold Coast service.
About you
You are likely to thrive in this role if you work well on your own, take initiative and can balance multiple priorities without losing attention to detail. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as is the ability to stay calm and effective in a busy environment.
You should be comfortable identifying practical solutions, care deeply about improving outcomes for people with disability, and ideally bring experience from disability services, rostering, care coordination or another leadership position.
Training and support
MACS will provide full paid training to prepare you for the role. This includes one week of training in Brisbane with accommodation and meals covered, followed by two weeks of supported on-the-job training from the Southport office alongside the leadership team. Ongoing mentoring will continue as the Gold Coast operation develops.
Additional information
This position is aligned to SCHADS Level 5.1. Applications close on 2 July 2026. To be considered, candidates should send a resume and cover letter explaining their suitability for the role by email.
