Role overview

Soben, part of Accenture, is looking for a Mechanical or Electrical Project Manager to join its Data Centre team in Frankfurt, Germany. This position supports major ground-up data centre developments for global technology clients across Europe and is designed for someone who enjoys technical delivery, client interaction, and building a career through challenging projects.

The role covers the full journey of project delivery, starting with early design discussions and continuing through commissioning and handover, with a strong emphasis on MEP systems and technical quality. Candidates should already be based in Germany or be prepared to relocate there. Fluency in German is preferred so local stakeholders and contractors can be managed effectively, alongside strong English communication skills.

What the role involves

• Taking responsibility for the delivery of mechanical and/or electrical scopes on data centre construction projects.
• Contributing technical insight during project setup, including advice on MEP strategy and delivery planning.
• Defining and tracking the main success measures for the project, such as schedule, budget, quality, and technical performance.
• Coordinating MEP design activity and making sure it aligns with client expectations and industry requirements.
• Managing compliance across quality, health and safety, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Setting up clear governance, reporting, and project controls.
• Supporting the sourcing of MEP contractors and specialist vendors.
• Working with consultants, contractors, and client teams to keep delivery aligned.
• Using KPIs to monitor progress and identifying opportunities to improve performance.
• Handling change control for MEP scope and design updates.
• Tracking project costs and preparing financial reports.
• Serving as the main point of contact between the client, consultants, and contractors.
• Producing accurate project updates, progress reports, and technical reviews on time.

What you need

• A degree or professional qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience delivering MEP packages on large construction projects, preferably in data centres or other mission-critical settings.
• A strong working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems used in complex builds.
• Previous experience in a client-facing project management or consultancy position.
• Understanding of the full project lifecycle, from concept design through commissioning and handover.
• Knowledge of project management methods, tools, and best practices.
• Experience supporting procurement and managing contractors in construction.
• Chartered status is preferred, or progress toward chartership.
• German language ability is preferred, along with strong English communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal stakeholder management skills.
