Role overview
Our client is hiring a meticulous Logistics Analyst to support the Supply Chain function in the Pacific region. The position is based in Sydney and focuses on keeping logistics activities running smoothly while ensuring full compliance with international trade requirements in a market that relies heavily on imports.
Trade compliance and customs
- Manage import and export compliance processes across ANZ in line with global trade standards.
- Review tariff classifications and keep HS codes accurate to reduce duty leakage and compliance exposure.
- Track changes in trade rules, Free Trade Agreements, and duty frameworks to help improve cost efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain customs paperwork, permits, rulings, and responses to regulatory inquiries when needed.
- Assist with duty settlement and look for recovery options such as drawback claims.
- Work with regional stakeholders to resolve and close audit findings.
Logistics operations and coordination
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with warehouses, carriers, and third-party logistics partners.
- Monitor service provider performance and support operational reporting.
- Manage shipment issues, including rejected consignments, and work with internal and external teams to resolve them.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for logistics-related questions across the ANZ region.
Performance monitoring and improvement
- Track compliance and logistics KPIs and compare results with global benchmarks.
- Support rollout of systems and tools used in trade and logistics operations.
- Review transport invoices, verify charges, and support payment processing.
- Maintain Proof of Delivery tracking records and investigate mismatches with customer-facing teams.
- Identify operational gaps and suggest improvements to strengthen efficiency and service quality.
Candidate profile
- A degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in supply chain operations, ideally in FMCG or a similar environment.
- Good knowledge of trade compliance, customs processes, and tariff classification.
- Experience using ERP platforms, especially SAP and transport-related modules.
- Ability to manage vendor relationships and coordinate with logistics service providers.
- Strong analytical ability with close attention to detail.
- Comfort with data analysis and numerical problem-solving.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with solid teamwork skills.
- Self-driven, adaptable, and able to perform well in a fast-paced setting.
