IT Technician

Role overview

An opportunity is available for an experienced and driven IT Technician to support operations in Paarl, South Africa. The position combines remote assistance with on-site technical work and suits someone who enjoys solving user issues, maintaining systems, and keeping day-to-day technology running smoothly.

Core duties

• Deliver technical support both remotely and in person.
• Investigate and fix problems related to hardware, software, networks, and connectivity.
• Handle helpdesk requests and close out user incidents efficiently.
• Install, set up, and keep IT equipment and systems running properly.
• Support Active Directory, Group Policy, firewalls, antivirus tools, and email security controls.
• Oversee and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, Wi-Fi, servers, and VoIP environments.
• Carry out routine backups and general system upkeep.
• Create user accounts, prepare devices, and configure applications for new starters.
• Keep asset records and technical documentation accurate and up to date.

Candidate profile

• Hands-on background in IT support and troubleshooting is required.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, networking, and Microsoft-based environments is important.
• Experience supporting LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VoIP, and server systems is expected.
• Exposure to UniFi hardware and CCTV systems is an added advantage.
• Strong communication abilities and a practical approach to problem-solving are essential.
• A valid driver’s licence would be beneficial.
