IT Network Engineer

Job Summary

The Network Engineer is responsible for keeping enterprise networks reliable, secure, and efficient across UNIX, Novell, VMS, Windows, and comparable environments. The role includes upkeep, assessment, setup, and user support activities that help teams work productively. It also involves contributing to the planning and expansion of network capabilities, while designing and deploying connectivity solutions for LAN, MPLS, and WAN environments serving the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and support enterprise network setups across LAN, WAN, MPLS, VPN, and WLAN.
• Set up and manage Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Administer Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and VMware platforms.
• Track network health, investigate problems, and keep services highly available.
• Apply security best practices and maintain disaster recovery readiness.
• Prepare and update technical records, and assist with infrastructure initiatives.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and service providers.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.
• At least 7 years of experience in enterprise network administration.
• Practical, hands-on knowledge of Cisco networking solutions and Microsoft infrastructure.
• Exposure to VMware, network monitoring tools, and ITIL-based practices.
• Strong ability to diagnose issues, communicate clearly, and analyze problems effectively.

Preferred Certifications

• CCNA or CCNP
• MCSE or Microsoft Certified
• VMware VCP
• ITIL Foundation
