About the company
This organization is an expanding Microsoft partner focused on building, designing, and rolling out sector-specific solutions on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for businesses in fuel and petroleum. As the business grows, it is seeking a driven Project Manager / Implementation Specialist to help strengthen and scale the implementation function. The role is central to improving customer outcomes, shaping delivery practices, and supporting clients as they adopt the platform.
This is a remote opportunity with occasional travel for client meetings, training sessions, or industry events.
Role summary
The Project Manager / Implementation Specialist will own new-customer onboarding and implementation work from kickoff through go-live and early support after launch. The position blends project management, client communication, business analysis, and implementation consulting.
You will work closely with customers, internal developers, and company leadership to deliver successful deployments while helping define and improve the company’s implementation approach as the customer base expands.
Customer onboarding and implementation
- Run implementation projects for new clients from initial kickoff through launch.
- Act as the main contact for customers throughout the implementation phase.
- Lead discovery conversations to understand client processes, goals, and business needs.
- Build implementation roadmaps, timelines, milestones, and deliverable plans.
- Coordinate work across customers, developers, and internal teams.
- Handle scope changes, schedules, risks, issues, and change requests.
- Deliver product demos, training, and user acceptance testing support.
- Assist customers during go-live and hand off into ongoing support.
Process development and improvement
- Create, document, and continuously improve implementation methods and best practices.
- Develop templates, documentation standards, training content, and onboarding workflows.
- Look for ways to make implementations more efficient and improve the client experience.
- Help build repeatable systems that can support rapid business growth.
Business analysis and consulting
- Review customer workflows and suggest best-fit solutions.
- Convert business needs into functional requirements for the development team.
- Support solution design and configuration discussions.
- Advise clients on process improvements and operational efficiency.
Project management
- Keep project plans, status reports, risk logs, and communication plans up to date.
- Share regular progress updates with clients and internal leadership.
- Ensure delivery stays aligned with schedule, scope, and customer expectations.
- Monitor implementation metrics and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.
Qualifications
Required:
- At least 3 years of experience in software implementation, consulting, project coordination, or customer onboarding.
- Strong organization and project management capability.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in client-facing presentations.
- Experience gathering business requirements and documenting workflows or processes.
- Ability to manage several projects at once in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Comfort working independently in a remote setting with limited supervision.
Preferred:
- Prior experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Background with a Microsoft partner or ERP consulting firm.
- Exposure to fuel distribution, petroleum, convenience retail, logistics, or a related industry.
- Understanding of fuel taxation, fuel reporting, inventory control, or related compliance requirements.
- Experience building implementation frameworks and operational processes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft 365, or other Microsoft tools.
