Role overview

As a Home Delivery Driver, you will be a key part of the team that brings online grocery orders to customers.

Eligibility

• You need to be at least 18 years old and must have held a full UK or EU driving licence for 12 months or longer, with no more than 6 penalty points.
• As part of the hiring process, you will complete an online driving risk check, and if selected, you will also take a driving assessment when you start.
• You must already have the legal right to work in the UK.

What the role involves

• Operating a 3.5-tonne van to deliver groceries to customers' homes safely, punctually, and in good condition.
• Carrying out van checks to make sure it is tidy, safe, roadworthy, and that delivery containers are secured before setting off.
• Supporting customers with questions, substitutions, and any delivery delays, while providing a friendly service.
• Learning about products, services, and promotions so you can offer useful recommendations.
• Helping in other areas of the store when you are not out on deliveries.

What makes someone successful in this role

• A warm, approachable attitude and a genuine focus on giving customers a great doorstep experience.
• Confidence driving a large vehicle in different environments, including busy streets, narrow roads, and a range of residential properties.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving, physically active, high-energy setting, with the ability to solve problems independently and work well as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexibly and productively across the store, with training provided in multiple tasks and development opportunities.
• Confidence using digital tools and technology, plus the ability to handle shopping containers weighing up to 15 kg.

Safety and monitoring

The business uses in-cab AI cameras to monitor driving behaviour and support compliance with road laws and defensive driving standards, helping protect drivers and other road users.
