Role overview
Higgins is hiring an experienced General Engineer to join Specialised Engineering Services in Palmerston North. This position suits someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work across a broad mix of machinery and equipment.
What the job involves
- Carrying out repair, servicing, and maintenance work on sprayers, trailers, and bulk tank machinery.
- Performing engineering tasks on new plant and equipment used in the bitumen transport and application sector.
What you need to bring
- At least 5 years of background in general engineering or mechanical engineering.
- National Certificate in General Engineering, Mechanical – Level 4.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Welding certification to AS/NZS ISO 9606.1:2017 is an advantage.
- A full, clean Class 1 New Zealand driver licence.
- Class 2, forklift, and Dangerous Goods endorsements will be viewed positively.
- Ability to carry out mechanical maintenance and machine servicing to a high standard.
- A strong safety-first attitude for your own safety, your team, and the public.
