Role Overview
We are hiring a Customs Broker to join the operations function in Dubai. This role is focused on managing customs clearance work across DAFZA and the mainland, while making sure imports, exports, and temporary cargo movements are handled accurately and in line with UAE customs requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, check, and file customs declarations using the Mirsal I and Mirsal II platforms.
- Ensure goods are classified correctly and declared with the right valuation.
- Manage import, export, temporary import, re-export, ATA Carnet, and cross-border shipments in accordance with Dubai Customs procedures.
- Coordinate with Dubai Customs, free zone bodies, and DNATA Cargo for inspections, clearance activity, and document verification.
- Keep customs and trade compliance processes updated as regulations and policies change.
- Guide internal teams and clients on customs rules, duty impact, and special customs procedures.
- Maintain effective communication with customs authorities and both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in customs brokerage.
- Practical exposure to both Mainland operations and DAFZA.
- Strong working knowledge of Mirsal I, Mirsal II, and Dubai Trade systems.
- Good understanding of Dubai Customs Law, GCC Customs Union rules, VAT requirements, and UAE compliance standards.
- Knowledge of ATA Carnet handling, temporary admission, and duty suspension processes.
- Experience dealing directly with DNATA cargo terminals in air freight operations.
- Certified Customs Expert (CCE) from Dubai Trade is preferred.
- Arabic language skills and fluency in English are required.
- Experience handling luxury or high-value cargo is an advantage.
