About the Role
A well-established construction contractor is looking for an experienced Planner/Scheduler to help manage major construction work in the Boise, Idaho area. The role focuses on project planning, schedule creation, progress monitoring, and broader project controls. You will collaborate with project managers, field teams, engineers, and subcontractors to keep work aligned with schedule targets and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning meetings to build execution plans and detailed project schedules.
- Create, maintain, and revise Primavera P6 schedules across the full project timeline.
- Follow project progress, flag schedule slippages and risks, and identify recovery options.
- Review critical path activities and prepare schedule performance updates.
- Build and manage resource-loaded schedules along with labor projections.
- Measure physical progress, productivity, and important project indicators.
- Align schedules across engineering, procurement, construction, and subcontractor workstreams.
- Assist with project controls reporting, forecasting, and earned value analysis.
- Join project meetings and advise teams on schedule-related matters.
- Visit the field to confirm actual progress and schedule status.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of background in project controls, planning, or scheduling.
- Prior involvement in industrial construction projects.
- Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 is mandatory.
- Working knowledge of CPM scheduling techniques.
- Experience with resource loading, forecasting, and schedule evaluation.
- Exposure to earned value management practices is an advantage.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong organization, communication, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams in fast-moving construction settings.
