Role summary

This is a contract opportunity for a CAD professional to support a client project focused on AI hardware. The position is fully remote and open to candidates working from anywhere in Canada. Compensation is competitive and will depend on relevant experience.

What you'll do

Create, update, and refine 3D CAD models for mechanical parts used in AI hardware systems.
Review designs carefully to confirm structural strength, thermal behavior, and ease of manufacturing.
Work closely with engineering and other cross-functional teams to address design issues and incorporate feedback from simulation results or testing.
Prepare production-ready technical materials such as drawings, assembly guides, and bills of materials.
Make sure all work aligns with applicable industry standards as well as client-specific validation and certification requirements.

What we're looking for

At least 3 years of practical experience using 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360.
Background in designing mechanical components for hardware products, ideally in technology or AI infrastructure environments.
Strong knowledge of GD&T and core mechanical design practices used in precision engineering.
Ability to read technical specifications and convert them into CAD models that can be manufactured effectively.
Familiarity with simulation and validation tools such as ANSYS or COMSOL for thermal and structural analysis.
