About the Role
IPG is hiring a Weaver to join its production team in Truro, Nova Scotia. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, staying active throughout the shift, and contributing directly to the manufacture of high-quality fabric. The position supports a fast-moving environment where teamwork, safety, and attention to detail are essential.
As part of the weaving team, you will help keep as many as 20 weaving looms operating efficiently while maintaining fabric quality and supporting daily production needs.
Key Duties
- Keep looms operating by repairing tape breaks in both the weft and warp.
- Remove empty tape packages and replace them in an orderly manner.
- Inspect fabric carefully and identify defects so they can be corrected.
- Carry out routine housekeeping tasks such as dusting looms and sweeping floors.
- Assist with additional team duties in a busy production setting.
- Remain physically active during the shift, including substantial walking.
Candidate Profile
- This is an entry-level opportunity, so prior weaving experience is not required.
- You should be energetic, self-driven, and open to learning.
- Strong troubleshooting ability and the capacity to manage several tasks at once are important.
- Comfort working near machinery is needed.
- Experience in a fast-paced job environment will be considered an advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting pay of $20 per hour.
- Weekly payroll.
- Shift premiums of up to $1.25 per hour.
- All required personal protective equipment is supplied on site.
- An on-site cafeteria is available.
- Extended health and dental coverage is included.
- A pension plan is offered.
- Work location is in the Truro Industrial Park.
Schedule Details
- 12-hour shifts.
- Day shift runs from 7:45 AM to 7:45 PM.
- Night shift runs from 7:45 PM to 7:45 AM.
- Employees rotate between days and nights; fixed day-only or night-only schedules are not available.
- This is a permanent full-time role with an average of 40 hours per week.
