Role Overview

Greywlf Studios is seeking a skilled and experienced Video Editor to join the production team in New York, United States. In this role, you will lead the editing process for film and video content, shaping raw footage into polished, broadcast-ready projects that align with the production director’s creative direction.

The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of contemporary editing methods, the ability to interpret visual concepts from the director, and the discipline to deliver high-quality work within demanding timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the director to understand the intended creative direction for each project.
• Examine raw footage to identify usable shots and build the edit plan.
• Edit and enhance video material using current industry-standard techniques.
• Preserve scene continuity and arrange shots in a way that supports the story.
• Cut and assemble footage into a rough working version of the project.
• Add dialogue, music, sound design, graphics, and visual effects where needed.
• Ensure the final edit flows in a clear and logical sequence.
• Work closely with the director and wider production team throughout the editing process.
• Prepare the completed cut for broadcast or final delivery.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in film studies, cinematography, or a closely related discipline.
• Prior professional experience in video editing.
• Practical proficiency with editing tools such as Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, and Premiere.
• Strong creative judgment and artistic sensibility.
• Working knowledge of 3D composition and special effects.
• A portfolio showcasing completed film or video projects.
• Ability to handle fast-paced deadlines and strict schedules.
• Capability to turn creative concepts into finished productions.
