Role Summary
This full-time, on-site valet driving opportunity in Staten Island, NY is suited to a dependable, safety-minded driver who enjoys interacting with people and can work as part of a supportive team.
Key Duties
- Provide prompt, courteous service by addressing client needs and concerns, communicating proactively, and helping resolve issues efficiently.
- Check each vehicle before parking it and record any visible issues.
- Clearly explain valet pricing to customers.
- Follow traffic rules and maintain safe driving habits at all times.
- Escalate accidents, hazards, unusual incidents, and policy breaches to management.
- Use local knowledge of major streets, landmarks, and highways to give customers a smooth transportation experience.
- Arrive in a clean uniform for every scheduled shift, on time and prepared to work.
- Stay fully in uniform for the entire shift.
- Support managers with other assigned tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a valid state driver’s license, have a current address, and maintain an acceptable driving record. Comfort driving manual transmission vehicles is an added advantage. Candidates must be available for special shifts, including second shift, third shift, and weekends when required. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required, with valid documentation to be provided if hired.
The role also calls for the ability to give accurate information to customers and co-workers, respond professionally to complaints, handle basic math involving U.S. currency, and understand written materials such as instructions, emails, and memos. Strong follow-through on both written and verbal directions, along with the ability to stay calm when plans change or unexpected situations arise, is important.
Physical Requirements
The job regularly involves standing, walking, and using hands to manage cash and equipment. It may occasionally require sitting, climbing, balancing, and lifting or moving items up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage is $17.00 plus tips, and this position is eligible for tip earnings in addition to the base pay. Eligible employees may participate in medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible spending accounts, long-term and short-term disability insurance, life insurance, accident insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.
