About Chorus
Chorus is helping power Aotearoa’s digital future through ultra-fast fibre and a purpose focused on unlocking potential through connectivity and enabling better futures for New Zealand.
Role Overview
This role sits within a growing Supply Chain team that supports the build, maintenance and repair of a critical national network. As the Supply Chain Specialist, you will own the supply chain from end to end so materials arrive where and when they are needed.
The position goes well beyond basic procurement or logistics. You will act as the key connection between operational teams, service partners and suppliers, handling purchasing, stock control, transport coordination and supplier performance. You will also look for ways to improve efficiency, lower risk and add value.
Day to day, you will work in a fast-moving operational setting where priorities can shift quickly. You will be expected to anticipate issues, solve problems early and make sure field teams have the resources they need to support customers and keep the network running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
You will oversee inventory, supplier relationships, procurement activities and logistics processes while contributing to continuous improvement across the supply chain function. Your work will directly support the performance of one of New Zealand’s most important infrastructure networks.
Location and Working Style
This is a permanent full-time contract role. Christchurch is the preferred location, though Auckland or Wellington are also options. Chorus supports flexible working and has a strong hybrid working culture, with a focus on achieving great outcomes while working in a way that suits both the business and the individual.
Why This Role Exists
Chorus is in a new growth phase, aiming to reach 80% fibre uptake across the country by 2030. This opportunity has opened as the organisation expands its capability in support of that strategy.
Experience and Background
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys taking ownership in a busy operational environment and is committed to high-quality service and ongoing improvement.
The role calls for experience in supply chain, logistics or procurement, particularly in consumption-based planning, purchasing and inventory management within a customer-oriented environment. Background supporting operations or delivery-focused organisations is important, as is confidence working with suppliers and vendors and building effective working relationships.
Experience improving return logistics and broader supply chain processes will be valuable, along with exposure to integrated ERP systems that cover purchasing, inventory and finance. Strong communication and influencing skills are needed to work with stakeholders at different levels. A data-led mindset and familiarity with inventory systems and supply chain analytics are also important.
A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, Procurement or a related field is preferred, although it is not mandatory.
Culture and Benefits
Chorus describes itself as a collaborative, open-minded workplace that values diversity, innovation and healthy work-life balance. Through the Chorus Care package, employees can learn and grow in an environment that supports flexibility and inclusion.
Equal Opportunity and Accessibility
Chorus has an inclusive and equitable culture and encourages applicants to share any accessibility needs so suitable support can be arranged during the application process. The organisation also notes that women are underrepresented in senior roles and encourages women seeking their next career step to apply.
Additional Information
Chorus is focused on becoming a stronger network operator while continuing to build the infrastructure that helps communities and people thrive across Aotearoa.
