Role overview
An experienced Supply Planning and Logistics Manager is needed to oversee three primary warehouses and regional depots in Galway and Dublin. The position can be based within commuting distance of either Galway or Dublin and offers a hybrid working setup.
You will own the end-to-end supply chain for core and non-core products, with a focus on maintaining product availability, controlling costs, and ensuring dependable operations. The role covers multi-product inventory, warehousing, fleet, premises, and all non-core procurement activity. A major part of the role is to build and sustain a strong health and safety culture across all areas, with full compliance and proactive risk control across teams, sites, and fleet operations.
Inventory and stock control
- Maintain stock at the right level across all locations, balancing availability against working capital requirements.
- Lead demand planning using sales forecasts and service schedules.
- Cut down stock write-offs, obsolete items, and slow-moving inventory.
- Put effective stock controls and cycle counting processes in place.
- Manage SKU rationalisation and standardisation where it makes sense.
Warehousing and distribution
- Oversee day-to-day operations across three warehouses and regional depots.
- Improve efficiency in receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch activities.
- Create consistent processes across all sites.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety compliance.
Fleet management
- Manage the full fleet lifecycle, including acquisition, servicing, utilisation, and replacement.
- Ensure vehicle availability matches delivery and service demand.
- Handle contracts, leasing partners, and cost management.
- Maintain compliance with CVRT, tax, insurance, and driver policy requirements.
- Increase route efficiency and vehicle utilisation.
- Promote a strong safety culture across fleet operations, including driver conduct, vehicle safety, incident prevention, and compliance with road and workplace safety laws.
Procurement and supplier management
- Manage suppliers for equipment, consumables, and logistics services.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and service levels.
- Track supplier performance and ensure continuity plans are in place.
- Find savings opportunities without affecting service quality.
Premises management
- Oversee warehouse and depot facilities and infrastructure.
- Ensure all sites remain safe, compliant, and suitable for purpose.
- Coordinate maintenance plans and vendor contracts.
- Support site expansion or consolidation projects when required.
Continuous improvement and systems
- Identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency and leaner operations.
- Support digital improvement through ERP optimisation, better stock visibility, and tracking tools.
- Develop KPI reporting and dashboarding.
- Lead or support transformation projects such as depot optimisation and fleet strategy.
Cross-functional working
- Partner with Operations on service and delivery planning.
- Collaborate with Sales on forecasting and the effect of promotions on demand.
- Work with Finance on inventory value and cost control.
- Support Customer Care on service reliability issues.
- Align supply chain activity with business growth and customer expectations.
Requirements
The successful candidate should bring proven leadership experience across multi-site supply chain or logistics operations, along with strong inventory management experience in a field-service or asset-heavy setting. Hands-on fleet management expertise is also required, together with the ability to contribute at both operational and strategic levels. Commercial judgement and strong stakeholder management skills across functions are essential.
