Role Summary
This full-time, on-site Store Manager position is based in Harare, Zimbabwe. The role is responsible for the smooth running of daily store activities, with a strong focus on stock control, inventory oversight, and tracking items received and issued. The Store Manager will also supervise store personnel, arrange work schedules, and make sure all processes follow safety, security, and municipal requirements.
In addition, the role calls for accurate record maintenance, preparation of reports, and compliance with procurement and audit standards. The Store Manager will work with internal teams, address store-related concerns quickly, and maintain a tidy, organized, and service-oriented store environment.
Key Duties
- Oversee everyday store operations and ensure inventory is managed effectively.
- Track stock movement, including items received, stored, and issued.
- Supervise store staff and coordinate shift or work schedules.
- Maintain compliance with safety, security, procurement, audit, and municipal procedures.
- Keep precise records and prepare required operational reports.
- Work with internal departments to support smooth store functioning.
- Resolve store-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Help maintain an orderly, secure, and customer-friendly store area.
Requirements
- Practical experience in store management, stock control, and inventory processes.
- A service-minded approach with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for dealing with staff, suppliers, and members of the public.
- Understanding of loss prevention methods, asset protection, stock variance reduction, and security controls.
- A qualification in Supply Chain, Stores Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline; professional certifications in stores or inventory management will be an added advantage.
- Experience working in a store, warehouse, or inventory control environment, preferably in the public sector or a large institution.
- Good numerical ability, organization, documentation, and attention to detail, along with basic computer skills such as MS Office and inventory systems.
- Ability to work ethically, cooperate with others, and follow municipal policies and regulations consistently.
