About the Role

Disney Experiences is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Payments and Accounting Technology team in Orlando, Florida. This group builds secure, auditable, modern commerce platforms that serve both guests and cast members. The work supports seamless transactions and helps power Disney’s financial operations and P&L.

You’ll be part of a fast-moving environment focused on strengthening and extending the Payments and Accounting ecosystem through system enhancements, reliability improvements, and new product features. The role reports to the Manager of Technology and calls for a collaborative, AI-aware engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and delivering dependable systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and support APIs and services used by internal and external applications.
  • Create and maintain software solutions that run on AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop clean, testable, and maintainable code with appropriate test coverage.
  • Take part in peer reviews and help reinforce engineering standards and best practices.
  • Deliver front-end functionality while coordinating closely with backend systems.
  • Work across teams to ship scalable, resilient solutions.
  • Maintain existing applications, resolve production issues, and help ensure uptime and smooth releases.

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 3 years of relevant software development experience.
  • Hands-on experience across the full stack, including cloud, APIs, and user interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of Angular, including components, RxJS, and state management.
  • Experience with Node.js, especially Express or NestJS.
  • Strong background in Java 17+, microservices, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
  • Experience using AWS tools such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Aurora.
  • Familiarity with both relational and NoSQL databases, including systems such as MongoDB.
  • Experience testing UI and APIs using tools such as JUnit and Postman.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability, production-readiness mindset, and partner integration experience.
  • Exposure to generative AI and LLM-based workflows, including RAG, prompt design, and guardrails.
  • Experience with agentic AI tools such as Amazon Q/Kiro, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude.
  • Python scripting experience for automation and AI/ML-related integration.
  • Comfort working in an Agile environment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced setting with shifting priorities.
  • Commitment to producing clear, well-documented, high-quality code.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

The hiring range for this role in Orlando, Florida is $110,000 to $130,000 per year. Actual base pay may vary based on internal equity, candidate location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be included, along with the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
