Role overview
This opportunity is with a software-as-a-service provider focused on general insurance. The business has recently grown into Canada and is now hiring a Sales Manager for the Vancouver area. The ideal candidate will be a technically minded insurance sales professional who can work confidently in the Insurtech space.
Key responsibilities
- Reach out to potential clients, deliver presentations, and negotiate deal terms as well as technical requirements, both remotely and face-to-face.
- Use a strong understanding of sophisticated technology offerings to run detailed product demonstrations during the sales process.
- Keep prospect information accurate and up to date in the CRM, including the key data points required for each lead.
- Help shape the overall sales approach and go-to-market direction.
- Contribute to building and strengthening the future sales organization.
- Improve sales collateral, including the customer message, points of differentiation, and business benefits.
- Manage time effectively across prospecting, demos, and follow-up activity.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and other customer-facing industry events.
Candidate profile
- At least 2 years of sales experience in insurance broking.
- A strong, self-driven sales mindset with resilience and determination.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a similar discipline is preferred.
- Practical knowledge of insurance operations and industry workflows gained through work experience.
- Genuine interest in technology and prior exposure to software tools.
- Experience with Insurance Broker Management Systems is an advantage.
- Strong customer relationship skills and clear communication abilities are essential.
- A structured way of thinking and the ability to present several solutions to customer problems.
- Comfort with learning new features, processes, and evolving product functionality quickly.
- Ability to spot product development opportunities and explain their value clearly.
- Capable of working independently with initiative, drive, and a proactive approach.
- Willingness to travel within Canada when needed and internationally on rare occasions.
- Preference for candidates based in the Greater Vancouver area.
Compensation and benefits
The salary can reach approximately CAN$95,000, along with a 20-30% bonus and a strong benefits package.
