Resource Manager

Role overview

KPMG Australia is looking for a Resource Manager to join its Resource Management team in Sydney on a permanent basis, with the position structured as a 12-month fixed-term contract. The team plays a central role in improving how people are deployed across client work, helping the business use talent efficiently to support productivity and profitability. In this role, you will partner closely with the business to coordinate resourcing for client engagements.

What you will do

• Promote Resource Management practices across the business and reinforce the value of strong resource planning.
• Create practical resource solutions and support processes that help the firm use its talent effectively and efficiently.
• Work with stakeholders and other Resource Management teams to redeploy people and identify capability gaps.
• Review resource-related data, reports, and financial information to surface insights, trends, and potential issues early.
• Build contingency plans for upcoming engagements and resolve resourcing clashes through constructive negotiation.
• Contribute to firmwide initiatives and transformation programs, including taking a lead role where needed.

Experience and background

• Experience in Resource Management or Workforce Planning within a fast-paced professional services, consulting, or project-based environment is highly desirable.
• A genuine interest in working with people and resolving complex, demanding problems.
• Strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and deliver on projects.
• Experience handling varied information sources and large data sets, with the ability to analyse findings and turn them into commercially sound actions.
• Ability to work independently, stay resilient, adapt quickly, and contribute innovative thinking in a changing environment.
• Background in Operations and/or Technology is an advantage.
