Role Overview

Chandigarh University is hiring a confident and engaging News Anchor for its Media & Communications department. This position calls for someone who can present news and institutional content with professionalism while maintaining a strong grip on current affairs and excellent on-camera delivery across digital, social media, and internal university channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Host and present news bulletins, feature stories, interviews, special coverage, and university programs.
• Gather information, draft scripts, and refine news copy in coordination with the content and production teams.
• Interview faculty members, industry professionals, students, and invited guests.
• Deliver both live and recorded segments with clarity, confidence, and a polished presence.
• Keep up with breaking news, education-related developments, and updates from the institution.
• Work closely with videographers, editors, and writers to support smooth production workflows.
• Contribute to voice-over work, promotional content, podcasts, and other media assignments.
• Maintain factual accuracy, impartiality, and credibility in all communications.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• Applicants should have 2 to 5 years of experience as a News Anchor, Presenter, Reporter, or in a broadcast role.
• Strong spoken English and Hindi communication skills are essential.
• Comfort and confidence in front of the camera, including live reporting, are important.
• Ability to manage interviews, panel-style discussions, and event coverage is needed.
• Familiarity with digital media platforms and current content trends will be valuable.
• Scriptwriting and storytelling ability will be considered an added advantage.
