Role Overview
The Meter Data Analyst will use data mining, statistical methods, and modeling techniques to study operational and customer-related information on a daily basis. This role partners with teams such as Metering, Systems Maintenance, Production, and Finance to uncover trends, diagnose issues, and shape corrective actions based on the findings.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine customer account and operational datasets to identify patterns that support forecasting, consumption analysis, asset failure detection, and maintenance planning.
- Collect, organize, cleanse, and classify data from different sources while ensuring consistency and usefulness.
- Build and review reports that highlight trends, anomalies, and emerging patterns.
- Translate findings into visual formats such as dashboards, graphs, and charts for easier understanding.
- Support the design and rollout of corrective actions informed by data analysis.
- Help establish new workflows for data gathering and analytical review.
- Evaluate data quality, relevance, and meaning through structured analysis.
- Prepare management-facing summaries that explain trends, patterns, and predictions.
- Take on additional duties as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline, and has 1 to 3 years of professional experience working with open-source technologies. Experience with statistical tools such as Excel and Access, along with financial database systems like JPE, PS, and SAP, is required.
Skills and Competencies
This position calls for strong analytical judgment, quantitative reasoning, creative problem-solving, and the ability to communicate data clearly in written, spoken, and visual formats. The role also requires careful data cleaning and comparison across multiple sources, the ability to work with large datasets, sound conclusions, actionable recommendations, strong attention to detail, and a practical mindset for troubleshooting and interpretation.
Certification Requirement
A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual pay range for this role is $70,000 to $75,000. The position is eligible for an annual performance bonus of up to 5%.
