Role overview

This full-time, on-site Match Analyst position is part of the technical staff in Abu Dhabi. The selected candidate will study both the club’s own matches and those of opponents, collecting and interpreting tactical, technical, and physical data. Day to day, the role involves preparing pre-match and post-match video and statistical reports, helping the technical staff define the game plan, and reviewing individual and team performance. The analyst will work closely with coaches, athletic trainers, and scouting staff to share insights that support training plans and match strategy optimization.

The position also includes managing video analysis software, organizing and tagging clips, and presenting findings clearly to staff members and players.

Responsibilities

• Review the team’s matches and opposition games to extract tactical, technical, and physical insights.
• Create clear pre-game and post-game video and statistics reports.
• Support the coaching staff with game-plan preparation and performance reviews for both individuals and the team.
• Coordinate with coaches, fitness staff, and scouting personnel to translate analysis into practical recommendations.
• Use video analysis tools to clip, label, and organize match footage efficiently.
• Present analytical findings in a simple, visual, and actionable format for staff and players.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a match analyst or in a related football technical role, preferably in professional or semi-professional environments.
• Strong command of football video analysis platforms such as Hudl, Wyscout, InStat, or similar tools, along with basic sports data analysis capability.
• Solid understanding of football tactics, game principles, and training methodologies, with the ability to turn analysis into practical guidance.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, plus the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and simplify complex information.
• A degree in sports science, sport management, data analysis, or a related field is preferred; relevant federation match-analysis certifications are considered an advantage.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and flexibility around working hours for matches, travel, and training sessions.
• Good English proficiency; knowledge of a second language in addition to Italian is appreciated.
