Role summary

The Manager, Communications & PR reports to the Chief Communications Officer and partners closely with the department leadership team. This role helps guide a strong communications team within a unique firmwide communications model that operates independently across the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with attorneys to plan, shape, and execute communications efforts including media interviews, thought leadership, speaking opportunities, events, and similar activities that advance the firm’s mission and reputation.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with journalists at important media organizations, create introductions between partners and relevant reporters, and prepare lawyers for media interviews.
  • Write, revise, and polish press releases, talking points, internal memos, bylined articles, and other communication materials.
  • Create and edit copy for the firm’s website, intranet, internal messaging, and additional communication channels.
  • Support the planning and execution of social media initiatives that strengthen the firm’s brand and visibility.
  • Coordinate with external PR consultants, oversee their work, and ensure all deliverables align with firm expectations and goals.
  • Assist with inclusion-related initiatives and efforts that highlight the firm’s pro bono contributions.
