Role Purpose

The Lead - Projects Transmission Line (Site)-Tx will oversee the end-to-end execution of high-voltage 765/400 kV transmission line projects. The position is accountable for delivering work within planned timelines, approved budgets, and required quality benchmarks while maintaining strong site discipline, safe practices, and efficient team coordination. The role also involves active coordination with contractors, vendors, and local authorities to remove roadblocks, maintain compliance, and ensure smooth project completion.

  • Direct site execution by guiding engineers and ensuring project outputs meet approved Field Quality Plans, IS Codes, and CBIP manuals.
  • Manage project timelines through detailed planning, scheduling, review meetings, critical-path tracking, and timely corrective actions to prevent slippages.
  • Prepare and maintain MIS reports that accurately reflect project progress and support management reviews.
  • Spot execution risks and bottlenecks early, then apply practical solutions to keep work moving smoothly.
  • Review and process vendor bills with proper documentation and timely approvals to avoid delays in site operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements and internal safety systems at the site.
  • Run safety and quality checks regularly and help build a zero-harm work culture for all personnel on site.
  • Organize safety and quality awareness sessions to strengthen team capability and compliance habits.

  • Coordinate with local authorities for shutdowns, crossings, and other critical approvals needed for project activities.
  • Build strong coordination with internal functions and external stakeholders to support seamless project integration.
  • Track project budgets, cash flow, and resource usage to ensure financial discipline.
  • Monitor costs against sanctioned budgets and take steps to control overruns.
  • Carry out site inspections and enforce safety protocols to identify, reduce, and manage risks.
  • Use project management tools and digital systems to improve progress visibility, resource tracking, and execution efficiency.
  • Explore and apply newer technologies that can improve outcomes and make project delivery more cost-effective.
  • Set clear goals for the engineering team, follow up on performance, and help the team deliver against productivity targets.
