Role overview

Pet Valu is a large North American retail group serving pet owners with food, supplies, and care items for dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, and small animals. Its banners include Pet Valu, Paulmac's Pet Food, Bosley's, Tisol, and Total Pet. The company also supports local animal welfare organizations through adoption events, in-store adoptions at select locations, pet food banks, donation drives, and fundraising efforts.

As a Keyholder, you will help keep store operations running smoothly while delivering excellent service to customers. You will recommend products and services that support the health and enjoyment of pets, take shared ownership of store performance, and help represent the store in the local community. Compensation

Pay starts at $18.20 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Handle cashier duties and support customer purchases.
• Prepare merchandise orders, banking paperwork, and other routine administrative documents.
• Restock smaller items such as pet supplies and household products on the sales floor, including items under 10 lbs.
• Carry out general store upkeep such as sweeping and dusting.
• Help unload delivery trucks and put pet food and supply shipments into stock, including items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Open and close the store according to company procedures.
• When the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is absent, set daily priorities and assign tasks to ACEs.
• Take on other duties as needed.

• Practical familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
• Friendly, outgoing manner with strong customer service ability.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Availability for a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation to and from the store.
• A valid driver’s license may be necessary.
