Janitor

Role Overview

ESFM is hiring full-time janitors to help maintain clean, orderly, and sanitary facilities at its Decatur, Alabama location. This position involves routine and heavy-duty cleaning work in a professional environment.

Work Location and Schedule

The role is based at 3M, 1400 State Docks Road, Decatur, AL 35601. Applications are accepted online only. This is a full-time position with rotating day schedules that may vary between 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm; additional schedule details will be shared during the interview.

Compensation

The pay rate for this job is between $14.50 and $15.00 per hour.

What You Will Do

• Remove trash and dispose of it according to approved procedures and infection control standards.
• Dust and damp mop floors in line with established cleaning methods.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed for proper cleaning, then return items to their correct places.
• Clean assigned spaces using designated tools and supplies, and sanitize surfaces thoroughly using the required eight-step process.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and similar surfaces to keep the area clean and safe for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Identify areas that need attention and take initiative to complete cleaning tasks.
• Complete assignments given by the supervisor.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and county rules and procedures.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors, and shampoo carpets when required.
• Work cooperatively with the team and maintain a professional attitude toward customers, coworkers, and others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Skills

This position requires prior janitorial experience, knowledge of sanitization practices, the ability to work independently, and the discipline to follow a route card.
