Role overview
This position is for a housekeeping-focused supervisor at a luxury hotel in Doha, Qatar. The role sits within the Housekeeping & Laundry function and is a full-time, non-management position based on site.
The property is a long-established 5-star resort on the Arabian Gulf coast with 374 rooms and suites, restaurants, spa and fitness facilities, pools, a private beach, a Club Lounge, and event spaces. The hotel emphasizes refined luxury, Qatari hospitality, and high service standards.
What you will do
- Check guest rooms, public spaces, pool areas, and other cleaned areas to confirm they meet quality standards.
- Review sold-room reports, confirm room conditions, identify discrepancies, and set cleaning priorities.
- Track and update the status of rooms due to be vacated.
- Support housekeeping leadership with day-to-day operations.
- Coordinate work between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry teams.
- Record and resolve mismatched room-status issues with the Front Desk.
- Prepare, share, and communicate room-assignment updates.
- Pass along open issues to the incoming shift.
- Complete required paperwork and operational documentation.
- Help with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance reviews, counseling, discipline, and staff motivation/coaching.
- Follow company policies, safety rules, and security procedures, and report maintenance issues, hazards, incidents, or injuries.
- Complete safety training and any required certifications.
- Maintain a clean, professional uniform and personal appearance.
- Protect confidential information and company property.
- Greet guests in line with brand standards, recognize their needs, support guests with disabilities, and thank them sincerely.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with others.
- Build positive working relationships and respond constructively to coworkers’ concerns.
- Maintain quality and service standards at all times.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, moving, pushing, and pulling housekeeping equipment and supplies, including carts on uneven surfaces.
- Work in postures and movements that include reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, standing, sitting, and walking throughout the shift.
- Handle objects of different sizes and weights using fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Use computers and/or point-of-sale systems to find and enter work information.
- Read and verify information in different formats, including small print.
- Take on other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred qualifications
Applicants should have completed high school or hold a GED equivalent. The role calls for at least one year of relevant work experience and at least one year in a supervisory capacity. No license or certification is required.
