Role overview
The High-Volume Recruiter will support rapid expansion and production ramp-up efforts by driving large-scale hiring for direct labor positions. This position is based at the upcoming Prince George, Virginia facility and works closely with Human Resources, Operations, and Workforce Planning to understand staffing demand and build effective sourcing plans. The recruiter will oversee the full hiring process, from candidate attraction through onboarding, while helping maintain a steady talent pipeline and meeting aggressive hiring timelines.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and execute recruitment approaches that support new business growth, program launches, and workforce ramp needs.
- Work in partnership with Operations, HR, and Workforce Planning to align on headcount requirements, hiring schedules, and ramp-up plans.
- Handle the full recruiting cycle for direct labor positions, including sourcing, screening, scheduling interviews, and managing offers.
- Build and sustain a strong candidate pipeline to cover ongoing hiring demand and large-scale ramp programs.
- Use multiple sourcing methods such as job boards, community outreach, hiring events, and employee referrals to find suitable candidates.
- Help organize and run hiring events, job fairs, and local outreach efforts to increase candidate interest and flow.
- Monitor and share recruitment metrics, pipeline health, and potential staffing risks to support readiness for ramp-up.
- Deliver a positive candidate journey by staying professional, responsive, and attentive throughout the process.
- Coordinate with HR and onboarding teams to support orientation and new hire onboarding activities.
- Keep candidate information accurate and up to date in applicant tracking and HR systems.
- Follow company policies, employment regulations, and ethical recruiting standards at all times.
- Join workforce ramp discussions and provide leadership with regular updates on hiring progress.
- Look for ways to improve recruiting speed, candidate quality, and overall process effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in high-volume recruiting, preferably in manufacturing or direct labor environments.
- Demonstrated success in supporting workforce ramp-ups and large-scale hiring initiatives.
- Practical experience with applicant tracking systems, especially Workday, and other HR systems.
- Strong organizational ability and the capacity to manage several requisitions at the same time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Collaborative approach and comfort working across HR, operations, and planning teams.
