Role Overview
Swissotel Corniche Park Towers in Doha, Qatar is looking for an F&B Cost Controller who is careful, analytical, and highly organized. The position focuses on managing food and beverage cost controls to support profitability without compromising service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Review food and beverage costs in detail, spot opportunities to reduce expenses, and put practical savings actions in place.
- Track stock levels closely and carry out routine inventory counts to reduce waste and avoid stock shortages.
- Create and keep up-to-date costing records for recipes and menu items.
- Compile financial performance reports for F&B operations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Work with chefs and F&B managers to fine-tune menu pricing and improve product mix.
- Check vendor invoices carefully to confirm charges match agreed rates and are compliant.
- Maintain strong portion control practices across all food and beverage outlets.
- Carry out periodic outlet audits to ensure cost-control standards are being followed.
- Guide and train team members on inventory best practices and cost-control procedures.
- Study market movements and competitor pricing to help protect and strengthen the business position.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Accounting, or a similar discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in F&B cost control or a closely related role, ideally within hospitality or restaurant operations.
- Hands-on experience with financial systems such as Oracle or SAP, along with strong Excel capabilities.
- Good understanding of industry standards and day-to-day practices in food and beverage operations.
- Strong numerical ability, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Prior exposure to inventory management tools and methods.
- Ability to stay effective under pressure and handle deadlines with confidence.
- Clear communication and interpersonal skills for working with multiple departments.
- Professional certification in cost control or hospitality management is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Qatar’s local food and beverage regulations would be beneficial.
