Role overview
An expanding environmental consultancy is launching a new office close to Milton Keynes and is hiring an Ecologist to help establish the team. This position offers the chance to be part of the office’s founding group, shaping how the team works, influencing project delivery, and contributing to growth from the beginning.
You will work across a varied mix of residential, commercial, infrastructure, and conservation assignments. The role combines independent workload management with support and collaboration from experienced professionals across the wider organisation. Typical work includes protected species surveys, habitat assessments, technical report preparation, and communication with clients, so the pace and focus will vary from week to week.
This opportunity is well suited to someone who enjoys combining practical fieldwork with technical ecology work, cares about delivering strong environmental outcomes, and wants to be in a company where ideas are heard and not buried in unnecessary management layers.
Key duties
Your work will involve carrying out ecological surveys, preparing technical documentation, and liaising with clients and project teams. You will help deliver high-quality ecological input across projects while managing your own workload effectively.
